We hired Nora after buying 10+ samples of paint. We knew we weren’t headed in the right direction with color and needed professional assistance. I found Nora by searching on the internet. Her price was very reasonable and we were so greatful she would take on such a small job (selecting paint color for our 2 story family room). She came up with the most beautiful and unique color combinations. Honestly, we are thrilled with the colors and now LOVE the look of our family room – we would have liked it with the colors we would have chosen, but now it feels like a new room and our things look so much better in it! Working with Nora was a very positive experience and we hope to work with her again.

As a young girl I ALWAYS liked to color and preferred to have crayons and a coloring book over a doll! Now I get to color digitally and staying inside the lines is even easier. I use Benjamin Moore’s Color Viewer with photos of my client’s homes to apply the wall colors I’ve chosen with the design plan.

I then demonstrate to them what their space would look like with the colors proposed. It takes some tweaking around to get the colors as close as possible to the actual paint chips… and a lot of cropping on the images, but I manage to get them as realistic as possible. It also makes a great communication tool with the painters.

Here are some examples:

Learn to finish your home like a pro using small accessories such as mirrors, cushions and candles.

1. Use a classic brushed silver or chrome tray to display your glassware and small accessories. Use one in the bathroom to display your perfumes. Light a few candles, and watch it sparkle.

2. A return to deco-inspired Hollywood style has made a huge comeback with mirrored glamour chests. They work great as a front entrance console, or as an end table in a living room or bedroom.

3. Unusual materials that are textured, nubby or furry make great sexy style pillows and throws. They are a great addition to any “plain” sofa or chair. These exquisite and luxurious cozy accents, work well in both contemporary and traditional spaces.

4. Use plants to create a real sense of place. Ivy, moss, ferns or a beautiful dried flower arrangement strategically placed in a home, behind a chair, above an armoire or an a counter adds the perfect finishing touch to any room.

5. Frame prints for inexpensive art. Botanical prints can be cut from an outdated calendar or picture book. Frame six or eight pieces in the same size frame and group them together on a wall for a dramatic focal point.

6. Use baskets under a coffee table and fill them with magazines or blankets. Or do like I did here and hide your pet toys. Take a book shelf and add baskets to the top two rows for a refined uncluttered look. It will not only look great, but also help organize your things.

7. Use candles to change the look and feel of a room instantly. Be consistent and use repetition when displaying your votive holders.

8. Fabric covered cubes are multi-functional pieces that work great as a pair. Use them as a coffee table, for extra seating, or as a storage unit. Some come with a removable lid that allows you to store your things and maximize your space.

9. Expand your room with a well position floor mirror. It can do wonders in your living room, behind a chair, or as a focal point at the end of a hall.
